Who am I?

Raymond Peter Luke

The Story Behind the Work

I was born in Rhodesia—in the heart of Alkebulan, the continent that carried humanity’s first footsteps. It is a country that renamed itself Zimbabwe in the act of reclaiming its own story, and I grew up breathing that air. That fact is not incidental to my writing. It is the ground it grows from.
I came south to South Africa—another country shaped by the weight of its own history, its contradictions, and its extraordinary human resilience—and I have been here ever since. Watching. Living. Thinking. Serving in the SADF. Practising martial arts. Leading spiritual communities through their seasons of difficulty and growth.

From the Workshop to the World Stage

By trade, I am a motorcycle mechanic. For forty-nine years, the motorcycle has been my primary means of transport across this continent—not a hobby, but a sustained, committed relationship with the African road.
Today, my focus has chosen a new direction: moving from repairing motorcycles to writing, authoring, and lecturing focused on worldwide human development. The workshop and the page have always been the same place. Both ask how things work, why they fail, and how they are restored.

Identity as the Ultimate Directive

This evolution is rooted in a deep psychological clarity. I understand exactly what I am. My life is a deliberate, conscious, and subconscious effort to keep myself in absolute alignment with my own self-concept. For me, a fiercely held sense of identity is the ultimate directive. It shapes how I live, how I think, and how I teach. Psychologically, my reticular activating system now opens to full capacity, allowing the absolute perceptual reality of what I create to come into view.
This relationship with existence—with Alkebulan in its particular southern expression—is present in everything I create. My philosophy is not European in its orientation. My psychology is not borrowed from Western clinical tradition. Both were arrived at independently, built from the road up through a life lived in conversation with this continent’s demands and gifts.

 The Legacy: QIBP Publishing

I am the founder of QIBP Publishing, an independent South African imprint, and the author of A Handful of Light—Poetry, Philosophy & Psychology for the Conscious Mind (Volume 1 of The Light Series), publishing in 2026. This planned four-volume work is written for the long arc—a legacy built here, from African experience, for a global audience.
Without a single advertisement, this work has already reached 54 countries. It found its audience because it is genuine, speaking from a life actually lived.
Whether you are here to study my books, participate in my upcoming short courses, or engage with lectures designed for human advancement, you are welcome. The journey is underway. You are invited to be part of it.
